What the F#@% ?
Has anyone else been getting fake comments on their blogs? They're not really comments from people but lousy advertisments for crap!! I've had three now pop up on some of my posts but I've deleted them cuz their stupid and shameless. Why are they advertising like that on a blog...as a comment? Like I'm going to believe someone REALLY wanted me to know this crap. I'll leave the last one I got so you can see for yourself. It's on the post for Found Ohsixhundredhours. See? Shameless and annoying! They must be stopped!!
Change is Good
I found this awesome website promotion for GAP. It has amazing graphics. I think you'll need Shockwave for it to work. It's great just to watch. Check it out. It's fun! Watch Me Change.

NEW INTERNSHIP!
I just got my internship! <trumpets blare here> I needed an internship for my communication elective worth 3 hrs credit. I had trouble getting one earlier. I was in contact with someone else starting late July and they strung me along until two weeks after school started then told me that they couldn't take on an intern until spring semester. But I need it now! This fall semester in order to graduate! So... I had an interview Monday and here it is Thursday, a now employed intern. Well, employed in the basic sense that I'll be going in to work for at least 10 hrs a week but not employed in the sense that it's paid. Yeah, paid would've been great, but I just needed the credit for school. So I win either way! Yea!!!
Oh yeah, the internship is at Lara & Company Creative Advertising and Design because in case you didn't already know, I'm a media advertising major. (And just between you and me, I only picked the major cuz I was crunched to pick one by the time I was done with one year of community college. I saw advertising on TV, in the movies, and main characters in many fiction novels were often in advertising, so I thought, what the hell, sounds alright.) But it's turned out to be interesting and there's lots of room to be creative. One day I hope to come up with and work on a Superbowl commercial. I just hope I'm creative enough. You'd be surprised at how hard it can be sometimes.

Fantasy Writing
I stumbled into this fun message board on www.imdb.com. It started out as a game where someone writes one sentence, then the next person adds a sentence and so forth until a story develops. Well, people couldn't write just one sentence for very long. They started writing paragraphs and whole stories almost. It's really long now, but it's great. There's a link on the side bar of my blog. It's called The Legend of Jack of Shantaloon.
Check it out. I've started contributing. I love writing. (Maybe that's why I'm a creative writing minor. Hmmmmm. Discuss amongst yourselves.)

The Killers
I love this new band. The Killers are awesome! I hadn't wanted to buy a new CD in a really long time. No new music had really called out to me. Then there was the Killers. The lead singer, Brandon Flowers, is so hot! But I didn't just listen to their music just because he's a hottie, I heard them before I saw them.
And other CDs I bought at the time were Gwen Stefani and Scissor Sisters. All great CDs. You totally need to listen to them. All three.
Lots O Stuff
Wow. I totally forgot I had a blog for a while. I've been super busy. Last semester was a doozy. Advanced campaigns took bunches of my time. We had our regional competition in April. My class was basically a mini advertising agency and our client was Yahoo. Well, everyone's client was Yahoo of course. I personally believe we hit the nail on the head. We were supposed to market to teens. And might I say, we did a bitchin job. We rocked! We had the BEST campaign. Comments after the presentations were over included the other universities saying we really hit the target and were scared they weren't going to win, that we would.
But alas, we had some pretty dumb judges who knew nothing about teens. I say this cuz a couple judges thought that teens wouldn't get into our idea of "Building Communities" and community service coupled with lots of promotions in a new web site this guy Paul from my class actually built which involved an online house the teens were building, as in a new web site house, for the exclusive Yahoo site just for teens. (In case you haven't guessed by now, we didn't win.) But the Sunday after competition there was this big article in USA Today about teens and community service!!! Take that stinkin judges!! Apparently teens DO get into that kinda stuff.
Okay, so there. I vented. Again. I vented lots in April and May. But yeah, we had a teaser commercial and a 60 second spot and a fully functioning web site built which no one else had. (And I was in the 60 sec spot.) I was involved in the filming of both and worked on the site a little. I was copywriter.
Okay okay okay. I'm really done now.
And now for something completely different....
I spent some time this month as a nanny for my younger cousins. But now that paying job is over. My brother's 21st birthday is coming up soon. Naturally he's excited about that. We all might be going to Las Vegas. Yeah!! I LOVE Vegas. I went for my 21st b-day. And we went like two years before that. And when I was a kid and again when I was in junior high. My parents went two months ago for their 25th Anniversary. Yep. We love Vegas. Course I also love Disney World but that's a whole other REALLY long story.
I got my cousins hooked on The Sims. And they've been watching the Simpsons now for some time. I think that's absolutely great. The Simpsons are like, classic, an American staple, the best cartoon ever. If you're wondering, my cousins are going to be 13 and 11 soon.
So I guess that's it for now. Maybe I'll remember I have this little blog and continue to put entries in it. Especially now that I have (anglelic music here) CABLE! Oh, those young, naive years with dial up. How did I ever live without cable internet??

Searching for Ohsixhundredhours
I lost the address to a blog that was currently called Ohsixhundredhours. I found it once by randomly surfing. When I updated my browser, it totally erased all of my bookmarks!! I just wanted to find the weblog again so if your a guy in college who uses a photo of Topher Grace as his profile photo and calls his site Ohsixhundredhours please let me know what your blog address is! I think your site is very entertaining.

Sims 2
Oh! I totally need to mention that I got the Sims 2 for Christmas and it's totally awesome!! Have you played it? They age now and get pregnant and have affairs with the maid and stuff. There's toddlers who become children who become teenagers who then become adults who then turn old and become elders. Then they die. But there's sooooo much more detail and stuff to do in this new Sims game.
There are three neighborhoods to choose from when you play and one is called Strangetown and in this town you can get abducted by aliens. If it's a guy, you have him use his telescope at night and then he may get taken away on a UFO and come back pregnant with an alien baby! Funny.
And I know a couple of cheat codes. One keeps them from aging. Just hit CTRL + Shift + C and the cheat box appears. Then type in "aging off" and hit Enter. (Aging off without the "" of course.) And another one gives them money. Bring up the cheat box and type: Kaching = 1,000 or Motherlode = 50,000.
It's an adictive game. Get hooked. Go buy it. Right now!

Blockbuster Bullshit
Okay, I need rant a bit. See, the Blockbuster video stores in my hometown of Odessa, TX do the newer thing of allowing new releases to be due not the next day at midnight, but the day after that at 6pm. Awesome. But the Blockbusters here in El Paso do not. Why is that?
And as you may have seen on TV they are now advertising the No Late Fees commercials. This means that you can keep you movie or game an extra day or two and not worry about those pesky late fees. But not El Paso's Blockbusters! Why?? I don't like having to run out at ten till midnight to turn in a damn movie when I could pass out on the couch after watching it.
Why don't these Blockbusters here participate? My theory is that there is some old dude with some corny vision of what Blockbuster used to stand for and he's not going to grow with society's new-fangled ideas of no more late fees and refuses to participate out of spite cuz his older brother, whom is the favored relative that can never disappoint, is the one who came up with the new vision for the company, so this old dude displaces his anger and resentment and sticks it to all the good people of El Paso. Well this is bullshit. Blockbuster is a nation wide store and they should all be the same. The same I tells you!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
Did everyone have an excellent holiday? Wow, it's 2005 now. We're now in the middle of the zeros. We ain't just gettin outta the 90s, we're full blown zeros now.
Anyways, I went home to Odessa for Christmas. It was great to see my parents and my dog, Zoe, again. I also got to get together with my friend, Audra, and her baby, Connor. He's almost a year old now and he's so cute!
I came back to El Paso for New Year's Eve cuz I was invited to a party through a friend from school. It was awkward for the first ten minutes cuz I only knew two people and they were mingling with others. I was like, Okay, I'll just stuff my face with chips for now. But then these other people from the Halloween party I had been to showed up and I was all, Great! I know you people! There was a ton of liquour there and like two bottles of champagne and two bottles of wine. But I only drank champange at midnight. (Driving you know.) And we played the drunk Jenga game. It's like regular Jenga but with stuff written on the blocks that make you do stuff like drink or make others drink. It was fun. I was there till 3 am.
